Operation Les Barrys Terribles

The team were chatting as they waited for the ship to get to Japan. Leon casually dropped the earthshattering revelation that he has 9 ex-wives. As the gang were talking, Roach and Wukong discovered that Requiem, Team Africa's decker, had tried and failed to hack into Barry's commlink. Roach counterhacked and planted Gremlins in her cyberdeck. Meanwhile, Leon (critically glitched) remembered seeing Requiem talking to the "insect shaman," fueling the team's paranoia even more. The gremlins caused a feedback loop, causing files to transmit to Barry's commlink. The files depicted an Australian troll very similar to Barry, named Barry-59. This Barry was a street sam with tons of chrome, unlike the party's Barry. Requiem started messaging Barry sounding very angry, and Barry stormed out to go talk to her as he was understandably freaked the fuck out.

Barry went to meet with Requiem in the bar as Wukong spied on them via drone. Barry couldn't remember anything about her, and Requiem clearly didn't believe a word he was saying. She left him in the bar and sent him a photo of herself with the chromed Barry at a party in Darwin with a bunch of other people. They seemed to have been very close. Barry tried asking Big Davey about it, but was shut down on that front.

The Matrix gang did some digging and found several instances of Barries with different numbers. They were all runners, though some were not trolls, but all had disappeared mysteriously after each doing some big major job. They were all also Scunthorpe United fans. Peanut went to try and calm Barry down, and was forced to admit that he actually kinda likes Barry in order to pull it off. They went back to the cabin and discussed their findings. Barry couldn't remember his childhood or meeting his only friend Davey, and he found he had no strong memories except the missions he'd been on recently. They tried calling Davey again, but he seemed to be suspicious of Barry. Peanut summoned a water spirit and asked it to find any other person that matched Barry's DNA, living or dead, starting in Darwin and Scunthorpe. It seemed very unhappy since this request was going to take absolutely forever, but it agreed and set out on its new quest.
