The Owlbear Cave

On Desnus 1st, 4711AR, the party gathered for the monthly Hear Petty Complaints day. Several stood out to them: First the farmers in Garrett's Rest report of a dragon haunting the southern Narlmarshes. Artesia identified it as a Forest Drake. Next: a local alchemist approached the throne and asked them to hunt a troll for his research. Third: John Hunter, the evolved form of Nameless Hunter #1, asked them to kill a notorious Warg before it could prey on the citizenry. Fourth: Vizma's herbalist friend wanted them to... milk a shambling mound? A huge argument ensued, but the party did agree to do it. Fifth: A pair of distraught parents wanted help finding their missing boy. Sixth: the Fishermen's guild wanted help killing a great turtle named Old Crackjaw. Seventh: A lumberjack asked for help killing a beast named the Hodag that ran off with his magic spear. Eight: A hot lady named Lily Teskertin asked them to find an elven ruin with an elven statue in it and bring it to her. Vizma began plotting to get Luka a harem.

The next day, they set off once more to explore and adventure. They immediately find another herd of elk, which all seemed to be ignoring the lake. They remembered the fisherman from yesterday, and what they find is his hidden fishing spot at the Tuskwater's edge, where they encountered and slew Old Crackjaw, finding an elemental gem of some kind nearby. The next day, they come across a landmark - a navigable ford across the river, a good place for a bridge. A few days later, they came across a person yelling for help as they were having a discussion about the silliness of their citizens. They rushed in to save the woman, which turned out to be a Leucrotta mimicking her voice. They slew it, and discovered its stash - containing a Blue Dragonhide Breastplate and Shield and a Tree Feather Token. The monster's words had angered Luka and Artesia greatly, but they calmed down fairly quickly.

The next day, they discover a large cave, likely inhabited by an owlbear. They entered to explore, and quickly discovered that the cave was not only large, but filthy. They soon discovered large fungi called Violet Fungi that had corrosive venomous tentacles. Luka fired a shot at one of them, and two more revealed themselves. The party had some trouble with them, and soon a roar was heard through the cave - the owlbear, a giant and enraged specimen covered in chainmail, emerged from deeper within the cave. The party proceeded to get the FUCK out of there with utmost haste.
