Sneegas in Paris
The exploration continued, uneventfully. On Gozran 7th, they made contact with a hunter and his dog, who told them where they could find some Tatzlwyrms for their quest. That night, Nisha had the dream with the woman and the crown again, this time even more vivid and magical. The next morning, they moved south back into the forest, coming upon a statue of Erastil at the end of the day. The statue was 15 feet tall and partially overgrown, and it seemed very very old. Vizma was able to identify its magical nature: It warded the area against animals, and worshippers of Erastil felt safe in its presence. They decided to rest there for the night.
The next day, they came upon the Skunk River once more, this particular section being full of sandy islands. In the middle of the day, they came to a particularly large island which turned out to be a Tatzlwyrm den. Two of them were visible, and Nisha and Artesia were able to identify their abilities and weaknesses and informed the party of this. The party decided to try stealth, which was immediately ruined by Sir Garett's clanking armor. A third tatzlwyrm appeared, and the party managed to dispatch them with relative ease. Vizma cut their heads off as trophies to hand in later. They got some pretty good loot out of it, including a partial map of the Greenbelt. The night passed peacefully.
They kept exploring the next day, having gotten used to the unpleasant smell of the Skunk River. The day after that, they found a pit with a hungry Thylacine trapped inside. The party decided to put it out of its misery, and Vizma calmed it down just as Garett managed to slip on the edge and fall into the pit. He took the opportunity to execute it, and after the party helped him out of the pit they decided to rest. Garett had a dream that night - a vision of the god Erastil sending him psychic approval for giving the Thylacine a quick death. He woke up feeling quite perturbed, as his real name was used in the vision.
The next morning, Sir Garett confessed his real identity, stressed by the possibility of dying at the Stag Lord's hands. He revealed himself as Luka, the bastard of House Rogarvia, and apologized for lying to them. The party reassured him and seemed quite alright with it, but Artesia was quite upset about being lied to. Regardless, they had made a pact to fight the Stag Lord, and so the emotional moment passed and they spent the rest of the day exploring.
They finally came upon the Stag Lord's fort, situated upon a hill. They decided to try disguising themselves as bandits to sneak in, seeing as it was guarded by archers and a direct assault seemed unwise. They successfully snuck in and were confronted by the Stag Lord, placating him with the Wormwood booze. Vizma then read a Scroll of Entangle, and combat was started. Most of the bandits got stuck in the entangle, and Artesia managed to score a devastating shot on Falgrim Sneeg, bringing him down in short order. Akiros Ismort, one of the lieutenants, promptly betrayed the Stag Lord and hit the man for a shitload of damage. Nisha hit the Stag Lord with a devastating Ray of Enfeeblement. Meanwhile, an Owlbear in a cage was trying to break free and the other bandits kept fumbling around in the dark ineffectually. Another lieutenant, Dovan from Nisroch, opened the Owlbear's cage and it went to town on the bandits standing nearby. Yi continues his tradition of being a mad cunt by grappling the Stag Lord. Vizma summoned a Mite on one of the watchtowers, that miraculously managed to send one of the bandits hurtling to the ground below right into a horse, which kicked the man into unconsciousness. To end the encounter, Vizma used his trusty Stone Call to make rocks fall on the bandits, knocking the Stag Lord down for good.
