The First Expedition

The party decided to first ride east, and then swing around in a circle motion to return to Oleg's from the west. They set off in the morning of the 2nd of Pharast, deciding to thoroughly explore the areas they passed through, playing Eye of the Beholder and listening to Yi singing marching songs on the way. After 5 hours of exploration, the party made camp and Vizma offered the gang Goodberries, which Artesia and Nisha accepted. Artesia took the night's watch, using magic to stay awake, while Vizma communed with the forest to check for predators, learning from a group of prairie dogs that there is a magical person living in a hut nearby. Also that there are lots of wolves in the area. The party turned in for the night, with the night being uneventful.

The next morning, Artesia accidentally offended Vizma and started the day off quite awkwardly. Daily preparations were made and Yi foraged some berries before the party set off exploring once more. After roughly 3 hours, they came upon a run-down hut surrounded by scorched and barren earth. The man inside was stirring a large vat of magical liquid, and Vizma detected magical auras all over the property. The man introduced himself as Bokken, a potion seller and genuine mental cunt who hates feds. The party seemed quite perturbed by his nature, but he did offer to sell them potions and gave them two quests: gathering fangberries in exchange for a discount on potions, and also to find his "bastard brother" to the south and bring him back to Bokken. Nisha asked him about the moonradishes, and he gave the party some hints on where to find them.

The party left Bokken to his devices, heading further east. The rest of the day was uneventful exploration, and the party made camp once more. The next morning, they kept exploring, heading southwards as they totally hit an invisible barrier to the east. They encountered a pack of elk on the way, ignoring the peaceful animals. They set up camp in the evening, then continued exploring the next day, heading westward. They were ambushed on the way by a giant trapdoor spider, but it was dispatched with relative ease by Garett and Yi. However, Yi's horse started to run away in fear, being untrained for combat. A well-placed Calm Animals spell from Vizma took care of that, however. Artesia climbed into the spider nest, finding a dead bandit at the bottom. With Garett's help, they pulled the body out and looted him. He was carrying two notable pieces of loot: a silver Stag Lord amulet, and a piece of paper depicting a claw shaped dead tree on a barren hill with an X drawn in blood. Once all was done, the group kept traveling west, setting up camp in the evening once more.

The next day, the plains turned into forest, and they came upon the moonradish patch early in the morning. In the radish patch was a group of kobolds who had overeaten on the delicious roots, sickening themselves. The kobolds jumped up with shrieks as the group approached, seeming immediately hostile. Nisha told them to leave in Draconic, but they refused and combat was initiated. They called Garett a variety of expletives, and proceeded to absolutely bully the party (Garett in particular). After an embarrassing display of incompetence, Garett and Yi managed to turn the tide and defeat the kobolds. Vizma executed one and strangely, the plants in the area started growing more rapidly. The party loaded the radishes onto the horses, and a hunter stumbled onto the scene before rapidly leaving again, wanting nothing to do with the carnage at the radish patch. At Garett's insistence, they decided to head back to Oleg's the next day.

On the 7th of Pharast, the party returned to the Trading Post, finding it livelier than before. Four warriors were now there, one clearly a commander of some kind, along with a priest of Erastil. They gave the radishes to Svetlana, and she paid them handsomely for their efforts.
